Abstract

An investigation was conducted to detect the duration of the affectivity of liquid formulation of Bt H-14 local Vectobac 12 AS (Bt H-14) with a dose of 1 x LC95 and 5 x LC95 toward An.maculatus larvae. The locations of the research were the breeding ponds of An.maculatus in Segedhoh and Ngeseng rivers, Hargorejo village, Kokap district and Kulon Progo regency. The methods used were the applications of the liquid formulations of Bt H-14 local strain with a dose of 2.145 ppm/m2 to be equal to 1 x LC95 and Vectobac 12 AS (Bt H-14) with a dose of 0,037 ppm/m2 also to be equal to 1 x LC95 respectively which were applied to 8 ponds with the width ranging from 0.08 to 0.45 m2 and from 0.08 to 0.84 m2. The liquid formulations of Bt H-14 local strain with a dose of 10,724 ppm/m2 to be equal to 5 x LC95 and Vectobac 12 AS (Bt H-14) with a dose of 0,185 ppm/m2 again to be equal to 5 x LC95 respectively were applied to 8 ponds with the width ranging from 0,29 to 0,64 m2 and from 0,06 to 0,90 m2. The control group consists of 8 ponds with the width ranging from 0,16 to 1,2 m2. The investigation showed that (1). The affectivity of the liquid formulation of Bt H-14 local strain with a dose of 2,145 ppm/m2 (1 x LC95) toward An.maculatus larvae until 50% survival time of 7,35 days as Vectobac 12 AS (Bt H-14), (6,52 days) dosages of 0,037 ppm/m2 (1 x LC95) at p more than 0,05 (2). The affectivity of the liquid formulation of Bt H-14 local strain with a dose of 10,724 ppm/m2 (5 x LC95) toward An.maculatus larvae until 50% of survival time of 8,14 days were longer than Vectobac 12 AS (Bt H-14) with a survival time of 6,73 days at a dose of 0,185 ppm/m2 (5 x LC95) (p<0,05). The liquid formulation of B.thuringiensis H-14 local strain could indeed be used as a vector control agent.
